We'll, with QuakeCon 2009 only something like 353 days away we might as well wrap up 2008. While I am disappointed in saying that the tournament seeding was improperly done by the administrators, I speak for all TUF members when I say we had a blast at QuakeCon. It was a unique experience to meet each other, play in the tournaments and experience the largest LAN event in North America, but the icing was put on the cake when we were given the chance to play on stage in front of ~2000 people in an exhibition match that featured EnemyTerritory: Quake Wars.

As for the tournament results, we placed a respectable fifth place after losing to Kompaniet in the lower bracket. However, earlier, we managed to bump Kompaniet down to the losers bracket in the first round of the tournament in a heart pounding match that was won by 2 seconds. We joined them in the lower bracket after being beat by the dominant team, mamut.si. Both mamut.si and Kompaniet went onto the championship and respectively placed first and second. I congratulate both teams on their victories.

With all of that out of the way, I would like to thank Desolator for all of his hard work in being our leader for seasons 1, 2 and of course QuakeCon. While it deeply saddens me to say that he will not continue ET:QW with us for the foreseeable future, I along with the rest of the team, wish him the best of luck in the United States Army. Make us proud!

At long last, id Software has announced the tournament venue for QuakeCon 2008. While there are a number of other tournaments The United Force will only be battling it out for a cut of the $15,000 money pot in the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars PC tournament sponsored by Activision. I am also proud to announce we have finally secured our six player roster which is posted below.

Our roster will include the fearless players by the aliases of Desolator, Lance, Rigged, SniperSteve, Space and UncleJoe.

With the BYOC sign ups several days behind us I would like to announce that The United Force's premiere Enemy Territory Quake Wars team will be in attendance at Quakecon 2008. We plan on competing in any official ET:QW tournaments as well as BYOC games.

For those of you who are unaware, Quakecon is the premiere BYOC Lan event in North America. This year it will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas on July 31 through August 3.

Wish us the best of luck in the upcoming season and I hope to see you at Quakecon.

I am pleased to announce that effective today, mainLine Gaming will now be fighting under the TUF name for Season 2 due to complications with the mainLine Gaming sponsor. I would like to take this time to extend a very warm welcome to this new addition to our team. mainLine managed to take first place for Season 1 in CAL.
